A TRIP TO THE NORTHERN PLAINS

An invitation from the Governor of North Dakota, John Hoeven, in September 2002 led to three members of the CAGB, Peter Russell, Alan Wellbelove and Graham Berry, embarking on a trip to the Northern Plains in October 2004. The trip was intended to coincide with the anniversary celebrations of the Lewis and Clark Expedition that spent five months in North Dakota in the winter of 1804 and 1805. Derek Batten one of the Association's two Vice-presidents joined them for the start of the visit and Darrell Dorgan who lives in the State assisted in making arrangements for visits in the State. It is planned to return to North Dakota in 2006 when the State celebrates the return of the Corps of Discovery.  The photographs below are courtesy of Allan Wellbelove.
