Much of this article first appeared over 30 years ago and will probably only be remembered by older members of the Society. In the light of new material becoming available the author decided to to revise the original work. Many will know about the exploits of the James-Younger Gang and will be aware that the famous Pinkerton Detective Agency were determined to capture the gang dead or alive and had been after it's members from 1871 after the Corydon Robbery. This book tells the story of how the Pinkerton's tried to capture the James boys and the attack on their home over the night of 25/26th January 1875 - an event that gave the brothers a great deal of sympathy as it was bungled by the Pinkerton operatives and left their Mother Zerelda with part of her arm hanging loose. |
