SALVADOR OR MARTINEZ?
The First Fork on the Trail of Mickey Free
by
Allan Radbourne
|
This paper is a revised and updated version of one first published under the same title in the Brand Book (Volume 14, Number 2) in January 1972. Mickey Free is widely remembered as the boy whose abduction would lead to the confrontation between Lieutenant George N. Bascom and the Chiricahua apache chief, Cochise at Apache Pass in 1861. This paper looks at the two versions of Mickey free's origins hence the title of the paper. |
